Spike Tassel (Post 59) re shamus100 (Post 2652): I'll stick to seeing how Jehovah defends those he has commissioned, whether as parents or as Witnesses for his name and Kingdom. Dan.2:44 will be fulfilled soon enough. That will be interesting to witness.

Spike Tassel (Post 58) re shamus100 (Post 2643): Jehovah has his own ways of speaking out for himself in cases such as this. It is his supremacy, i.e. sovereignty, that is at stake on this one. Just you mark my words. The governments are like dust on the scale in his eyes, after all.

Do Not Say: "The Society Teaches"!
by compound complex inwt 1998 - 3/15 p.19 .... .
"in order to avoid misunderstandings, jehovahs witnesses try to be careful about how they express themselves.
instead of saying, "the society teaches," many witnesses prefer to use such expressions as, "the bible says" or, "i understand the bible to teach.

Spike Tassel (Post 55): According to http://laws.justice.gc.ca/en/charter/1.html, the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms starts PART I with the following: "Whereas Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law". If so, this 6-1 decision is NOT the final say.

Is the Downfall of Jehovah's Witnesses More Important Then You?
by AllTimeJeff in(on proofreading this, i feel that this is more preachy then i meant it.
so as a disclaimer, i hope you know that if you get that impression, that i didn't mean it that way.
having said that, this is what i feel, so if you relate to this in any way, enjoy.

Spike Tassel (Post 54): Since Jehovah makes stand those who are his own (Rom.14:4), the "downfall" of any of them is temporary, regardless as to whether it's me or anyone else. The criterion as to whether we are Jehovah's own is found at Psa.119:165, which states "Abundant peace belongs to those loving your law, And for them there is no stumbling block." On the other hand, if one is disfellowshipped (in harmony with 1 Cor.5:13), this is equivalent to a physician or lawyer being disbarred for malpractice. In that case, the standard is higher and more rigorous to be readmitted to licensed, sanctioned practice than it is to be admitted the first time. The expectations and responsibilities are set at a progressively higher level each time readmittance is considered since learning from experience and its lessons is required. It is a matter of proper respect for duly-constituted authority.

• re DaCheech (Post 2429): Some may say that cutting-and-pasting is being a slacker, not willing to work. Others may say that cutting-and-pasting IS work, just smart use of technology. So, it depends who your audience is. Perpetual reasonableness is a requirement, after all.
• re stillin (Post 25): You mention elders as cops and task-masters. This reminds me of the "evil slave" spoken of at Mat.24:48-51. The fact that the Scriptures speak of this phenomenon means that Jehovah knows very well where everyone's heart is, and will reward that one accordingly in his due time. I recall another passage stating that the "first" will be "last" and the "last" "first", so it's not Jehovah and his word at fault, but the faulty motives of the individuals in question. Becoming "wise as serpents", "innocent as doves" is also important. Love, wisdom, justice, and power: it takes true spirituality to know how they apply as we make the necessary decisions. May none of us ever forget that we all need the ransom and must be forgiving and merciful and improving at listening so that we can benefit from the forgiveness and mercy of Jehovah and others and be listened to and taken as credible. We must also learn how we can plead the case of those suffering from the wrong decisions of others. Christian balance is an on-going issue. -

Spike Tassel (Post 48) re DaCheech (Post 2427): My Post 47, directly before cantleave's Post 7, is no cut-and-paste; it's how I really think as I match spiritual words to spiritual thoughts. Peace.

Spike Tassel (Post 47) re cantleave (Post 2): Let God be found true, despite the failings of others. It is Jehovah you must worship, not anyone or anything else. Love all the sinners (whether friend or neutral or foe), hate the sin. It's not about us or the things that we find inconsistent. It about being turned to face Jehovah, and accept that though our sins be like scarlet, they can be made white as snow if we accept the ransom's covering of them. Your sharing these things with us allows us to pray on your behalf that Jehovah can unify your heart and, in so doing, to help others to do the same. May Jehovah's peace be with you as upon all the rest of us, so that we may be blessed with the unity of his holy spirit.

re isaacaustin (Posts 1611, 1612): According to the holy spirit of Ephesians 6:4, I understand that Paul the Apostle taught parents to guide their offspring in the "discipline and mental-regulating of Jehovah". Was Paul the Apostle, then, a "victim of mind-control"? Or, was it not, rather, Saul the Pharisee? — Spike Tassel.
